What does MachineSense+ do?
MachineSense+ gives you eyes and insight on your machine’s hook in real time.
Pinpoint Accuracy: Powered by RTK GNSS, it tracks location down to the centimetre.
Smarter Sensing: An onboard IMU detects motion and measures activity for precise monitoring.
Instant Connectivity: Private 5G delivers ultra-low latency data, no lag, no guesswork.
Built Tough: Ruggedised for the harshest conditions, with an optional integrated camera to capture events and provide extra context when it matters most.
In short: you always know where your machine is, what it’s doing, and how it’s moving.
What does the UPS do?
The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) keeps MachineSense+ running, no matter what.
Power Without Wires: It powers the system while the crane is in operation, removing the need for a permanent wired connection.
Continuous Operation: Runs on battery when undocked, up to 42 hours of runtime (intentionally extended for trial use).
Smart Recharging: When docked, it auto-charges via 12V connectors in around 10 hours, ready to go again.
In short: the UPS ensures uninterrupted monitoring, docked or undocked.
Mechanical Installation:
MachineSense:
266mm (W) x 115mm (H) x 345mm (D)
Weight - 2.7KGs +
Power - 6W
UPS:
H: 300mm x W: 300mm x D: 200mm
Weight - 20.5kg
Input - Waterproof 2 core
(12v / 70w max)
The MachineSense+ unit is bolted to the plate atop the UPS housing. This is pre-fitted and power is supplied to the MachineSense+ from inside the enclosure.
The UPS is bolted to the floor of the crane trolley using M10 bolts through the perforations in the floor:

There are 4 fixing points as shown spaced at 270mm centres in both directions, to correspond with the mesh floor. Slot the M10 bolts through both the fixing points and the floor and offer up the associated washer and M10 Nylock nut to the underside.
Once all 4 bolts are in place, tighten well to secure the unit to the trolley.
THE UPS IS HEAVY SO AVOID TRAPPING FINGERS UNDERNEATH WHILE ALINING THE UNIT TO THE FLOOR.
Electrical Installation:
The MachineSense+ unit is affixed to the UPS and connected via a power cable between. A further cable is supplied and pre-fitted which requires connection to the existing auto-contacts adjacent to the crane pulley housing:
Auto-Contacts
When the trolley returns to the docking station the Auto-Contacts transfer power to the UPS to charge the batteries within. As the trolley moves away from the docking station, power is transferred back to the charged batteries which keep the MachineSense+ powered on.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS SHOULD ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY A QUALIFIED ENGINEER
