Updated over 6 months ago

Driver Interface LED lights are increasingly common in modern plant machinery, providing crucial information at a glance. This guide will help you understand the basics of these lights, their meanings, and how to respond when they activate.

What Are Driver Interface LED Lights?

Driver Interface LED lights are bright indicators on the Plinx Interface bracket. They provide real-time feedback on the status of various vehicle functions, such as engine idling, speed infringements, safe working parameters and zonal interactions.

The LEDs displayed on the Plinx Interface, follow a typical traffic light sequence:

Breach of Zone Restriction or Proximity Alert

Command: STOP - Colour: Red

Meaning: There are virtual zones set up around critical locations on site which are machine restricted. The machine has breached this perimeter and should vacate immediately.

Breach of regulatory speed limit

Command: SLOW - Colour: Amber

Meaning: The site speed limit has been set around access and haul roads on site and the machine has logged a speed greater than the designated limit on the chosen route.

Safe and normal operation

Command: GO - Colour: Green

Meaning: The machine is being operated within the safe parameters and guidelines required.  The machine is not infringing any regulations at this current time.

Machine Idle alerts

Command: IDLE - Colour: Blue

Meaning: During the work phase the machine has been idling for longer than 30 seconds consecutively.  Once the machine resumes the task, the LED will change.
